About This Project

The management at Richard Williams (Deganwy) Ltd approached Kartre Ltd to Project Manage an extensive expansion of the retail space at their branch in Ruthin.

The former retail space limited customer offering, lighting was poor and the shelving was fixed over a few meetings Kartre worked with the client to come up with a cost effective solution.

At the beginning of February 2016 the shop was ripped out completely and the area was re-modelled.

The configuration and layout has provided a complete transformation with a steel mezzanine first floor and new open plan office for staff.  From the outset we wanted to create a fresh commercial retail space, and due to the nature of the business; a raw industrial feel was created with exposed steel, exposed cable trays and a concrete effect pay counter. The exceptional new lighting and high quality steel and glass stair makes a quality statement drawing people upstairs to see further shelving and increased product range.

Kartre worked with the client from the outset, key to its success was maintaining trade throughout, Karete sourced the temporary accommodation for the shop and the staff.  The upheaval  and inconvenience was worth it as Richard Williams  now have a welcoming and spacious, light and airy shop floor with the addition of new offices space.
